Computer software and applications developed in Nigeria generated more than $1 million in total sales in 2025, National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) has revealed.

Obiageli Amadiobi, the director-general of the office, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Abuja.

The agency said the achievement reflects rising global acceptance of Nigerian-built digital products, driven by increasing local capacity in software development, mobile applications, and enterprise solutions.

It also highlights the growing competitiveness of Nigerian tech startups in international markets.

NOTAP noted that the sales milestone demonstrates the commercial viability of homegrown technologies, many of which now serve clients across Africa, Europe, North America, and parts of Asia.

These applications cut across fintech, e-commerce, health technology, education, logistics, and business productivity tools.
According to the agency, stronger intellectual property protection, improved developer skills, and expanding venture funding have played key roles in supporting the export of Nigerian digital products.

The growing adoption of locally built platforms by domestic businesses has also helped startups refine products before expanding abroad.
