Tetracore Energy Group has recorded steady progress in Nigeria’s gas sector through the expansion of its compressed natural gas infrastructure and rising delivery volumes. The company is led by Olakunle Williams, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Central to this progress is the CNG Atakobo facility, which has moved through defined stages of growth since operations began. The facility was developed to support industrial demand for gas and to strengthen supply consistency within Nigeria’s energy system.
In 2024, Atakobo operated at a baseline throughput of 3.1 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). This level supported early customer uptake and helped establish confidence in supply delivery. In 2025, Tetracore implemented expansion projects that increased capacity to 6.2 MMSCFD, allowing the facility to serve a wider customer base.
Current throughput stands at 7.64 MMSCFD. This increase reflects operational adjustments, higher utilisation of assets, and rising demand from industrial and commercial users. The figures point to the role of structured infrastructure investment in improving access to gas for production activities.
A major development in Tetracore’s growth has been the extension of gas supply to Dangote Group companies. The Atakobo facility now delivers CNG to the Dangote Refinery, fertiliser operations, and cement plants. These supplies support continuous operations across sectors that rely on gas for processing and manufacturing.
The expansion into Dangote’s industrial network highlights the link between gas availability and economic activity. For manufacturers, access to gas affects production planning, operating costs, and output stability.
Tetracore’s expansion aligns with national efforts to increase domestic gas use, strengthen energy supply, and support industrial growth. The company’s operations contribute to Nigeria’s “Decade of Gas” programme, which focuses on using gas resources to support economic development.
From baseline operations to increased capacity and industrial supply, Tetracore’s progress reflects how gas infrastructure development supports energy access and industrial output across Nigeria.
